Position overview
The Senior Communications Advisor provides strategic communications advice and delivers corporate communications activities for ACER India, including enhancing the organisation's external profile, brand and reputation, and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Job responsibilities
The Senior Communications Advisor promotes ACER India's work and reputation through the development and delivery of strategic communications for internal and external audiences. The role provides communications advice and leads initiatives that support ACER India and, where required, ACER's international offices.
The incumbent develops and manages ACER India's corporate publications program, coordinating the production of print and digital communications materials, publications, reports, newsletters, and promotional content. The role works closely with the ACER Communications team and colleagues across the ACER Group to ensure consistency in messaging, branding, and communications practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, writing, editing and coordinating corporate communication materials including newsletters, brochures, flyers, reports and event communications.
- Identifying and promoting stories about ACER India's work, research and achievements through internal and external communication channels.
- Writing and producing articles for mainstream media, industry publications, organisational publications and digital platforms.
- Providing strategic advice and content support for the development, enhancement and governance of websites, including the ACER India website and other ACER-related websites as required.
- Managing and maintaining ACER India's intranet and online content to ensure information is current, accessible and aligned with corporate branding.
- Supporting the development, delivery and evaluation of social media communications, campaigns and digital content in collaboration with Creative Services.
- Providing communications advice and support to staff across ACER India and working closely with Marketing, Creative Services, Online Services and other stakeholders to promote ACER's work and profile.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of media and communications plans, including preparing media releases, responding to media enquiries and facilitating access to ACER subject matter experts.
- Liaising with contributors and stakeholders to coordinate content, provide editorial guidance and ensure the quality and effectiveness of communication outputs.
- Providing communications advice, technical assistance and communication resources to ACER international offices as required.
Decision Making Authority
The Senior Communications Advisor exercises professional judgement in relation to communications activities within approved policies, procedures and delegated authority. Significant strategic, reputational, budgetary and media matters are escalated to the CEO, ACER India.
The incumbent supports the CEO, ACER India in all communication-related activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in knowledge management and communications, including international development and donor-funded projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing, editing and proofreading.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately to deadlines.
- Knowledge of publication and print production processes.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including senior leaders and clients.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, email and internet-based systems.
- Ability to quickly develop an understanding of organisational operations, objectives and industry context.
- Experience coordinating document production, including design and desktop publishing activities.

Qualifications
A postgraduate qualification in mass communication, business administration, English, development studies, social sciences or related fields.
