Are you interested in being an exam supervisor?
We are currently seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified candidates across Australia to assist in the supervision and management of our examination venues throughout Australia in 2026. Exam supervisors may be engaged to assist and supervise on a range of tests administered by the Tertiary and Industry Tools division at ACER.
What exam supervisors will do:
- Supervise and ensure exams remain secure
- Verify IDs and manage attendance lists
- Provide clear and detailed verbal instructions on test day to candidates
- Manage test time and assist candidates
- Report any irregularities
- Follow all procedures and processes as outlined by the Project Team
We are seeking applicants who:
- are confident;
- are effective communicators with the ability to give clear verbal instructions;
- have a high attention to detail;
- have integrity and a calm reassuring presence; and
- are able to follow direction.
Applicants with previous experience administering computer-based testing and technical proficiency will be highly regarded. Tests will be delivered via computer as well as in pen and paper formats.
Experience in exam supervision is not essential as training will be provided.

Gain further experience or exercise current skills to make an impact in the exam supervisory space. We’re seeking individuals with the tenacity to strive for group cohesion, who uphold professionalism and impartiality, and to ensure venues and processes run smoothly.
Availability:
Exams may run for consecutive days with early start and late finishing times. Applicants must be available for the full duration of the exam day and for any required training sessions prior to the test window. Additionally, exam supervisors may be required to assist in administrative and other related processes prior to and after the test day.
Dates:
Exams take place throughout the year on both weekends and weekdays. Exam periods will vary depending on the test; however, supervisors will be provided with expected dates of attendance well in advance of the testing rounds.
Selection Process:
Applicants may be invited to attend a group interview prior to confirmation of appointment at ACER.
Terms of Employment:
Exam supervisors are appointed on a casual basis so work is offered on an as-needed basis and we cannot guarantee work for every test administration. Remuneration will be paid at a casual hourly rate of pay relevant to the position being engaged for. The Exam Supervisor position will pay a casual hourly rate of $ 42.09 per hour. The relevant Project Team will advise supervisors of their rate and position prior to each engagement.
